From Ottoman grandeur with immense history and ancient antiquities, to rich cultural heritage, delicious cuisine and spectacular natural beauty, Turkey is a fascinating travel destination. Bridging two continents, Istanbul, Turkey’s largest city, is a perfect example of the Turkey of old and Turkey of the modern day with rich cultural and gastronomic scenes.
Join Joe and I in September 2025 and let us traverse the marvels of Turkey together as we explore bustling Istanbul, the otherworldly Cappadocia, and the Turquoise Coast dotted with archeological dwellings such as Ephesus and more. After spending one month exploring Turkey last summer, we can’t wait to go back and be your hosts on this unforgettable journey.

A transfer is included from Istanbul Airport to Orientbank Hotel Autograph Collection, a luxury hotel in the historic heart of Istanbul, just steps away from the Grand Bazaar, St. Sophia, and the Blue Mosque.
After hotel check-in, we will embark on a dinner cruise on the Bosphorus, a narrow strait of water separating the Asian and European continents. We will sail by the grand Dolmabahce and Beylerbeyi Palaces, and the Rumeli Hisar and Anadolu fortresses, taking it all in as the guide narrates the history of the city once described as the “city of the world’s desire”. At the end of the cruise, we will transfer back to our hotel.

In the museum collections, there are rich and important works of art belonging to various civilizations from the Balkans to Africa, from Anatolia and Mesopotamia to the Arab Peninsula and Afghanistan, which were the borders of the Ottoman Empire. Marvel at the beauty of the Blue Mosque famous for its six minarets and magnificent interior blue tiles.

The 5th-century city walls built by Emperor Theodosius II stretch for 6.5 km (4 miles) from the Golden Horn to the Sea of Marmara. It stood above the city for 16 centuries, until a series of earthquakes shattered the columns and today only the foundation remains. From here we make our way to Bodrum Castle and its Museum of Underwater Archeology. The castle is a historical foundation built from 1402 onwards by the Knights of St. John. In 1962 the Turkish Government decided to turn it into a museum for the underwater discoveries of ancient shipwrecks in the Aegean Sea. After this enriching tour, we will transfer to the pier and board our gullet for a cruise along the spectacular coast of Bodrum and lunch.
